This is from Metroid: Zero Mission. After defeating Mother Brain and reaching her ship, Samus is shot down, and her original Power Suit is destroyed. Thus she must sneak onboard the Space Pirate Mothership and avoid the Pirates at all cost, since her pistol can only stun them, and not for very long.
... You know, I've noticed that I'm much more likely to include a proper background if it's Metroid fanart versus Zelda fanart.
